TL;DR: Our leaders are too old. Their minds and bodies are failing, and the country is paying for it. Power without energy isn’t leadership — it’s control for its own sake. The future should be run by people who still have one.

???? When Power Outlives the Body

Mitch McConnell isn’t just another politician.
He’s the Senate Minority Leader — one of the most powerful men in America. For years, he’s pulled strings behind the scenes, deciding what bills move forward and which ones die.

But now we see him freeze mid-speech, lose balance, and stare blankly into space. The cameras catch it all. That’s not a “bad day.” That’s time catching up.

“When the body fails, the mind follows.”

If pilots have to retire for safety, why don’t politicians?
When the people in charge can barely stand or think clearly, it’s not leadership anymore — it’s a risk to everyone they lead.

???? What It Says About the Mind

As the body slows down, so does the brain.
That’s natural — but when those brains run the country, it’s a problem.

Most of the people in power grew up before cell phones, before the internet, before computers. Yet they’re making laws about technology, AI, and the future of work. They’re trying to drive a race car with horse-and-buggy reflexes.

“They don’t guide anymore — they just hang on.”

The truth is, many of them stay in power because they’re scared to let go. They call it “experience,” but really it’s fear — fear of losing control, fear of being forgotten.

We don’t need fear at the wheel. We need people who still have the energy and imagination to lead us somewhere new.

???? Dead Men Walking: When Yesterday’s Men Rule Tomorrow’s World

Look around Washington. Most of the people making the rules are old enough to remember when gas was 50 cents a gallon.

???? Average ages in power:

  • Congress overall: 58 years old
  • Senate: about 65 years old
  • House: about 57 years old
  • Supreme Court: many in their 70s or 80s
  • Presidents: usually late 70s or early 80s

????️ These are the people making choices for a world they won’t live to see.

“You can’t plan the future when you don’t have one.”

Many of them have nothing to lose. They’re rich. They’re protected. Their kids are grown. Their biggest goal is keeping their power until their last breath.

In any other job, someone that old and confused would be forced to retire. But in politics? They get applause and a campaign check.

???? It’s not about service anymore — it’s about power and money.
They’ve turned politics into a lifetime job with no rules, no limits, and no shame.

????️ “The government has become a mausoleum (???? ) — full of people writing laws for a world they no longer understand.”

Every year they stay in charge, the country slows down.
You can’t fix tomorrow’s problems with yesterday’s thinking.

???? The Future Belongs to the Living

Every generation has its time. This one needs to move over.

Older leaders can still advise, but they shouldn’t control the wheel anymore. When people cling to power too long, they choke the future.

“A country led by the past can’t survive the future.”

McConnell, Biden, Trump — different names, same problem. They’re all holding on too tight. Real leadership means knowing when to step aside and make space for new voices.

It’s time for the living to take charge — people who still have strength, ideas, and something to lose.

Because leadership isn’t about how long you’ve been around.
It’s about whether you still have the fire to build what’s next.

???? Call to Action

If you believe it’s time for younger, sharper leaders — share this post. Talk about setting age limits. Demand turnover.
The future belongs to the living, not the walking dead.
